Exams in the CFA Program are offered across multiple testing windows each year through a global network of test centers. After completing registration and payment, candidates must schedule a specific appointment with Prometric based on seat availability at each location.

Level I no longer has a one-time enrollment fee; candidates register under the Early or Standard fee for each exam window.

How much are CFA exam fees?
Starting with CFA exams seated in 2026 onward, CFA Institute has introduced a new fee schedule. One important change is that Level I no longer charges the USD 350 one-time enrollment fee previously applied.

If you need to change your exam appointment within the same exam window, the current rescheduling fee is USD 250, excluding any applicable local taxes.
Rescheduling must be completed before the published deadline for the relevant exam window.
Rules on exam attempts
Candidates may sit for the exam up to two times in a calendar year when the exam schedule allows, but they cannot sit in two consecutive windows or in windows that are six months apart or less.
CFA Institute also limits candidates to a maximum of six attempts per level.
